With more than 3,500 daily visitors, Lehigh's Linderman and Fairchild Martindale Libraries are active centers of research, collaboration and consultation for students and researchers. LTS Lending Services team is behind the scenes, providing quick and complete access to scholarly resources like books, journals, reserves, and digital media. While the Libraries provide access to more than 800,000 print and 300,000 ebook titles and over 45,000 print and electronic journals including databases, Lending Services works to extend the reach of scholarly access through interlibrary loan services like ILLiad, PALCI E-ZBorrow and Document Delivery.

"No library houses all of the world's publications," says Brian Simboli, Science Librarian at Lehigh Libraries, "and the high cost of many electronic subscriptions make it impossible to provide access to all the world's ejournals and ebooks. Interlibrary loan is therefore essential to Lehigh's research and teaching missions."

Now available: Office Delivery for Faculty and Staff
Recently Lending Services introduced a new program to assist researchers with access to scholarly materials: Office Delivery for Faculty and Staff. By partnering with Campus Mail Services, Lending Services is now able to provide an Office Delivery option to Faculty and Staff researchers utilizing PALCI E-ZBorrow or ILLiad for interlibrary loan book borrowing. Office Delivery for Faculty/Staff is a new delivery option on the PALCI E-ZBorrow request page. ILLiad users may opt in to Office Delivery by email to inill@lehigh.edu or calling 610-758-3055.

Each year Lending Services assists Lehigh researchers by processing nearly 6,000 book requests and 9,000 article requests. Additionally, Lending Services lends nearly 4,500 books and 5,000 articles per year to partner institutions in PALCI and OCLC. Turnaround time on borrowing requests is typically a brisk eight hours for articles and three to four days for books. Submit your interlibrary loan requests today at: http://library.lehigh.edu/services/interlibrary-loan.
