LTS Expands Storage for Digital Scholars

LTS is excited to announce a significant increase in network storage for faculty or graduate students working in digital scholarship. This expansion brings available storage to 60 terabytes, representing a five-fold increase in storage resources for digital scholars.

The new storage for digital scholarship will be provisioned on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Chulin Meng, Director of Library Technology, at or Julia Maserjian, Digital Scholarship Project Manager, at for more information.

This storage expansion is phase two of our three-phase storage strategy:

  • • Phase one was the procurement of a high-performance storage area network (SAN) to support the key growth area of virtualization of critical campus applications;
  • • Phase two is an expansion of the high-performance SAN as well as an investment in the open-source Ceph software to support digital scholarship and the growing digital library;
  • • Phase three will be a 2014-15 strategic priority: to vastly increase storage capacity and performance for campus researchers.
