Black Voices Part 2: Stories of Black Excellence OverDrive collection from Lehigh Libraries

Lehigh Libraries invites you to explore the Stories of Black Excellence collection of ebooks and audiobooks, available through the new OverDrive platform, in celebration of artistic, cultural, scientific, and literary works by Black authors.

The Stories of Black Excellence collection is the second in the Black Voices summer series from Lehigh Libraries. Books featured on the list in July include Gloria Naylor’s The Women of Brewster Place (read more here about Lehigh’s efforts to digitize Gloria Naylor’s papers), Beverly Bond’s Black Girls Rock!: Owning Our Magic and Rocking Our Truth, and Michelle Obama’s Becoming.

As the Black Voices series grows, books and audiobooks from the Part 1: Black Lives Matter reading list are still available. Additional titles, including The Hate U Give through July 19th, are available without a wait. You are invited to browse the entire OverDrive collection and submit your recommendations for the Black Voices series using this submission form.

About OverDrive

OverDrive, a new resource accessible from Lehigh’s OverDrive home page, is an e-reader, tablet, mobile, and web application that lets you easily browse and borrow ebooks and audiobooks available through the Lehigh Libraries. You may recognize OverDrive as the way that you check out and return ebooks at your local public library. Full instructions for installing and using OverDrive on your computer or mobile device are available in our OverDrive Access & Borrowing Instructions document.

If you have any questions about using OverDrive, please contact Carrie Baldwin-SoRelle, Social Sciences & Scholarly Communications Librarian at chb316@lehigh.edu, or visit OverDrive support.
