The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning invites the Lehigh community to attend one or more of the following LearnX-MakeX workshops to be held this semester, where we take a quick dip into a wide range of topics and you walk away with something you've learned, made, or designed!
These workshops are made possible through a partnership between Lehigh's Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning and the Office of Creative Inquiry.

CITL/LearnX-MakeX: Introduction to WordPress
This entry-level workshop provides an overview of the popular WordPress platform available at Lehigh for creating websites, blogs, or other digital projects. This workshop is for beginners with little or no experience working with WordPress. We will create a project of your liking by going step-by-step through the process of choosing a theme, creating pages, adding content, and publishing your site to the web. Please come prepared with an idea of a site, blog, or project you would like to develop as well as a few artifacts (images, media files, etc) that you would like to incorporate into your project.
Friday, September 28, 9:00 am to 11:30 am | Linderman 302
CITL/LearnX-MakeX: iPhone Pocket Production
This hands-on workshop will demonstrate a powerful video creation tool that is at the fingertips or in the pockets of nearly every American - the cell phone. The video capabilities of cell phones are becoming so great that even some feature films and documentaries are being recorded exclusively with them. During this 2 1/2 hour long workshop you will learn good tips and techniques for shooting video with your iPhone or iPad mobile device. The workshop will cover inexpensive products that can help improve recording quality and the software available on Apple's iOS to perform the editing. We'll practice recording in the field and editing in the classroom. By the end of the workshop, you should be able to walk away with a finished video. Please bring your iPhone/iPad. Some iPads will be available for use as well for participants who don't have an iPhone. (The Cap for this workshop is 12)
Friday, October 5, 9:30 am to 12:00 pm | Digital Media Studio EWFM 421
CITL/LearnX-MakeX: Intermediate WordPress
This intermediate-level workshop will take a deeper dive into Lehigh’s WordPress instance including: advanced editing and editing techniques; a more detailed look at the application of popular plugins; reviewing approaches and important considerations related to selecting, applying, and customizing themes; and sharing best practices for collaborating with and managing users/roles on your site. Since there is not enough time to review the basics, this workshop assumes you are already comfortable using WordPress, have a site created in Lehigh’s instance, and are ready to take your site to the next level. Please have ideas, content, and artifacts ready to be used on your site during this hands-on session.
