In recent years, Library and Technology Services has moved 99% of Lehigh students, faculty, and staff email accounts to Lehigh Gmail, taking advantage of the widely recognized and highly effective data security features that Google provides.
Effective June 1, 2018, all incoming Lehigh mail will be processed first through Google’s mail servers, then forwarded to the mail accounts of anyone still using legacy email or to the accounts where that mail may be forwarded. This change further increases Lehigh’s defense against phishing and malware attacks that can threaten all Lehigh mail users.
We encourage legacy Lehigh email users to migrate to Gmail soon. Using Lehigh Gmail not only increases your own data security, but it also helps protect the data and resources of the entire Lehigh community. When you migrate, you will notice no difference in email performance or speed and your email address remains the same. Contact your Computing Consultant as soon as possible to schedule a personalized migration.
