As part of a plan to re-envision the Fairchild-Martindale Library as a more vibrant and inviting space for students to gather, work, and study, Library and Technology Services (LTS) will soon begin renovations on the fourth floor of the library.
When work is completed, we will see three key changes:
- A new integrated Help Desk, which will combine the functions of the Library Circulation Desk and the Help Desk into a single point of service for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The new Help Desk will be located in the area where the current Help Desk is located.
- A new lounge seating area and information media wall in the foyer entrance for meetings, studying, and socializing.
- A new Cafe, which will offer grab-and-go options such as coffee, tea, fresh sandwiches and salads, and other typical cafe fare. The Cafe will be located in the area behind the current location of the Circulation Desk.
We expect work to begin on May 16th and be completed by August 15, 2019.
LTS will make every attempt to keep disruption to students and visitors at a minimum. We apologize for any unforeseen noise or service delays as a result of the work during the coming months.
