Support ending for Google Drive Sync, Google offers two replacement applications

Google Drive logo

Google has announced it will no longer support Google Drive Sync as of December 11, 2017 and will shut it down completely on March 12, 2018. The two new ways to access your Lehigh G Suite Drive files and keep them in sync on all of your devices are Google Drive File Stream and Google Backup and Sync.

You don’t need to do anything in response to the change unless you want to choose a new sync method. If you only use your Lehigh G Suite Drive via the web, you won’t notice any change at all.

Visit our synchronization tools page for an in-depth description of each application and to help you determine which best meets your needs, or see Google’s comparison chart for a quick view of the differences.

For assistance with using either tool, contact your department’s Computing Consultant or the Help Desk (610-758-4357 or helpdesk@lehigh.edu).
