This summer Lehigh announced its new HawkWatch communications system, which allows students, faculty, and staff to receive university emergency text messaging, delivered to mobile devices, office phones, desktop, and email.
The desktop notification system will be rolled out to faculty and staff Windows computers starting on Tuesday, November 27. Due to a number of variables, it may take several days before all computers receive the tool.
Once installed, Windows users will see a persistent HawkWatch alert icon in the notification area of their desktop and laptop computers, as below, showing an active connection.
Only alerts of a critical nature will be transmitted to users’ computers through the HawkWatch desktop tool. After reading any such alert, click the Acknowledge and Close tab at the bottom of your screen to close the message (see example alert).
HawkWatch desktop notification for MacOS is currently in development. Watch for updates in a future announcement.
If you have any questions about Windows desktop HawkWatch notification, please contact the LTS Help Desk at 610-758-4357 or email@example.com.
