Introducing Cisco Jabber Softphone: Make and receive calls from your Lehigh phone on your computer or mobile device

Ever wonder if you could send and receive phone calls from your Lehigh phone number using a desktop, laptop, or mobile device? Now you can!

Library and Technology Services (LTS) is pleased to announce the availability of softphones for the campus phone system. Softphone uses the Cisco Jabber application for making and receiving telephone calls over the network using a computer or mobile device rather than using dedicated hardware such as a desk phone. The Jabber softphone feature is available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices.

Softphones can still be run side-by-side with your desk phone using the same extension, while giving you the flexibility to use a laptop or mobile device as your phone when you are off campus, such as when you telecommute. Softphones are an effective alternative to forwarding your Lehigh calls to your cell phone.
