Jesse Pearson has been named Director of Administration and Planning for Library and Technology Services. His appointment was effective Feb 3rd. Jesse replaces Pamela Steigerwalt, who retired on March 31. He reports to Greg Reihman, Vice Provost for Library and Technology Services.
Jesse has over 20 years of experience serving in various budgetary and finance and administration roles in both higher education and in the private insurance sector, most recently at Temple University as Manager of Finance and Administration at WRTI, a public radio station in Philadelphia. Prior to moving to Temple, Jesse served as a Senior Budget Analyst at Drexel University.
“I have every confidence that LTS and Lehigh will benefit from Jesse's excellent skills and deep experience in the areas of finance, accounting, budgeting, human resources, business planning, and staff development,” said Reihman. “We are fortunate to have him on board.”
As a member of the Library and Technology Services leadership team, Jesse will be responsible for budgetary management, strategic planning, and operational oversight for the Lehigh Libraries, Technology Services, and the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning. He will also manage the recruitment and hiring of LTS personnel and take a lead role in the formulation and evaluation of division-wide services, policies, and diversity initiatives. Jesse will also manage large-scale projects and renovations, oversee space planning, and supervise facilities maintenance for both university libraries and the EWFM Computing Center.
“I am excited to join LTS and Lehigh at such a pivotal moment in our history. Lehigh has established a strong foundation of innovation, outreach, and leadership and it's an honor to be a part of it," Pearson said.
Jesse holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Pittsburgh and a master of business administration in financial management from Drexel University. He and his wife, Vinessa, are proud parents of five children. In his free time, Jesse enjoys running, cooking, and board games.
