  • The 2023 Symposium on Teaching and Learning at Lehigh will be held this week on April 11th and 12th. Register for either Day 1 events in Fairchild-Martindale Library or virtual sessions on Day 2. Visit the CITL Symposium website to see the full schedule.
  • The Lehigh University Libraries are excited to announce a new, three-year pilot Open Access (OA) agreement with Wiley that will allow Lehigh-affiliated responsible corresponding authors to publish their research openly in Wiley journals. This “Read and Publish” agreement maintains subscription access to all journals currently published by Wiley. Read more on LTS News.
  • LTS launched Secure Research Cloud (SRC), a new cloud-based research computing environment that empowers Lehigh faculty to store and analyze data that is subject to special security requirements, such as protected health information. Contact Ryan Bradley, Director of Research Computing for more information.
  • Join us for Poetry Month events, including a virtual talk on Shakespeare and a songwriting workshop. This year National Poetry Month coincides with the 400th anniversary of the publication of Shakespeare’s First Folio, so Lehigh Libraries will be celebrating the Bard all month!
  • Watch an aerial vertical dance performance on the outside wall of  Fairchild-Martindale Library on Thursday, April 13 at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.! BANDALOOP at FML, an event offered in partnership with the Zoellner Arts Center, is free and open to the public. Just come to the Butz Plaza (outside Fairchild-Martindale Library) and you can’t miss it!
  • Renovations of the historic Bayer Galleria in Linderman Library have been completed and the iconic Special Collections and Instruction Reading Room (Room 342) is now ready to host Lehigh researchers, students, and community members in pursuit of knowledge, learning, and close engagement with a wealth of primary resources available in Lehigh Libraries, Special Collections. The dynamic new space is fit for in-depth research consultation, supervised reading, and instruction. For research and class reservations, visit Special Collections Research Services.

  • Lehigh celebrated the grand opening of the LTS CIRCLE (Community & Inclusion Resource Center: A Library for Everyone) at FML in February. To learn more about the CIRCLE or to reserve the space for your DEI event, visit LTS News.
  • LTS’s Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning unveiled its new Student Developer Lab, offering a fully student-focused learning environment enhanced by cutting-edge technology. This dedicated space provides a research and testing ground for students interested in anything ranging from virtual reality, game design and development, creation of interactive apps, and more. With these tools and technologies, students have the opportunity to experiment and build in all aspects of both immersive 3D as well as 2D environments -- from virtual reality to mobile gaming to 3D modeling.   • On March 24, the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning hosted a panel discussion with faculty and students, The Implications of Generative AI for Teaching and Learning at Lehigh, focusing primarily on ChatGPT. Watch the recording
  • The beloved Lucy’s Cafe reopened in Linderman Library on March 6th after being closed for more than two years. Lucy’s (named after Asa Packer’s daughter) received a complete facelift, allowing a more open and relaxed atmosphere, increased seating, and new blue ceiling, in keeping with Asa’s interest in ships and sailing. The Cafe is open Monday-Friday, 8AM-2PM, featuring an expanded number of food and beverage selections, and will enable a host of Library programs after operating hours.
