Library and Technology Services has added an exciting new feature to the ASA Library Catalog, available at library.lehigh.edu.
Researchers now have the ability to search for articles across multiple journals and databases simultaneously. LTS piloted the article search feature over the summer and received positive feedback.
A more robust article search
When searching the ASA Catalog, you’ll notice an Articles tab in your search results. The article search pulls from Lehigh Libraries’ subscriptions, giving you full-text access to journal, newspaper, magazine, and primary source articles.
While not all Lehigh resources are included in ASA article searches (due to vendor limitations), this new capability provides a good starting point and a seamless way to search for articles while researching within the library catalog. Currently in beta, the article search feature will be refined throughout the fall semester to give you the best possible results.
What else can you do with the ASA Library Catalog?
The following features are available in the ASA Library Catalog to help you get more from your research and search results:
- Email or text a record to yourself
- Filter to exclude certain resources
- Build custom lists of items (you can build lists to share or private lists)
- Export individual items or entire lists directly into RefWorks
- Add comments and tags to items
- Browse course reserves
- Renew your checked out items
We welcome your feedback! Give the article search and other features a try and let us know what you think. Please send any comments about your search experience via the Feedback link at the top of the ASA Library Catalog.
