  • Erin Clavier, Acquisitions/Library Assistant, completed three Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) web courses: Fundamentals of Acquisitions, Electronic Resources and Acquisitions, and Collection Development and Management.
  • At the Jamf Nation User Conference (JNUC) held in Minneapolis, MN Adam Derrick, Computing Consultant, received the Jamf Certified Associate Certification. This certification covers enterprise management of Apple products with Jamf Pro.
  • Tim Foley, Chief Technology Officer, gave a D+SIGUCCS presentation The Who, What, and Why of IT Governance and Data Analytics at the 2018 ACM SIGUCCS National Conference in October 2018 along with Yenny Anderson, Assistant Vice Provost of Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics and Colin Foley, Interim Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Andy Januszak, Senior Computing Consultant, Help Desk, and Cristina Koorie, Computing Consultant, College of Arts and Sciences Support Team, co-presented Designing and Deploying a Virtual IT Services Orientation for First-Year Undergraduate Students in Moodle at the 2018 ACM SIGUCCS National Conference in Orlando, FL on October 7, 2018.
  • Dave Jones, Lead Network Technician, attended the Global Knowledge class UCCXD: Deploying Cisco Unified Contact Center Express.
  • Steve Lewis, Manager, Endpoint Engineering and Administrative Support Team (EEAST), and Tim Palumbo, Senior Computing Consultant, EEAST, presented BitLocker Full-Disk Encryption: Four Years Later at the 2018 ACM SIGUCCS National Conference in Orlando, FL on October 7, 2018.
  • Brian Posivak, Network Technician, attended the Global Knowledge class CIPTV1: Implementing Cisco IP Telephony & Video, Part 1.
  • Greg Reihman discussed Lehigh’s use of Google’s G Suite and our partnership with Google on their new Course Kit (Google Docs integration with Moodle) on a panel titled, “Ways to Transform the Way You Work, Teach, and Learn with New Collaboration Tools,” with Catherine Zabriskie (Brown), Brian Cors (Univ. Michigan Ann Arbor, and Marta McAllister (Google) at the 2018 EDUCAUSE National Conference in Denver, CO, November, 2018. Greg also participated in the Hawkins Leadership Roundtable at the conference.
  • Scott Rutzmoser, Sr. Geospatial Specialist, MS, GISP, presented at the URISA GIS-Pro Conference in October 2018,  Lessons learned about the NSF ITEST funded research being conducted at Building 21 with Bodzin et. al. Rutzmoser, S., Bodzin A., Hammond, T., Popejoy, K., Farina, W., Araujo Jr., R., Carrigan, J.,  Hanson, I., and Salter, S. (October, 2018), and The Do’s and Don’ts - Using GIS Tools in the Secondary Classroom. Presentation presented at the URISA GIS-Pro & CalGIS Conference, Palm Springs CA.
  • Mark Scott, Manager for the Client Services Business and Economics Support Team and Business Data Librarian attended the 2018 Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians.
  • Kent Smith, Network Technician, received his BICSI Installer 2, Copper certification. BICSI credentials are professional Information and Communication Technologies certifications.
  • Sharon Wiles-Young, Director of Library Access Services, presented at the State Library of Ohio in Columbus on September 21, 2018 about FOLIO and Open Source Community Development. In the presentation she had the opportunity to demonstrate some of the ways Lehigh Libraries is using open source in the day to day management of resources.
  • On July 24, 2018 Holly Zakos, Senior Instructional Technologist, Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, was a panelist in the session Integrating G Suite for Education with Instructional Tools (see 16:45) at Google Cloud Next '18, an annual conference that brings leaders and developers from across industries together with the Google team. The panel, higher education leaders who've been using G Suite effectively with their learning management systems, discussed best practices for using G Suite for Education with third-party tools in a hybrid-tool environment.
