Microsoft Office 365 login change: Action may be required

Microsoft Office 365

On Friday, January 10, Library and Technology Services enabled Pass-Through Authentication for Microsoft Office 365 in lieu of Single Sign-On (SSO). This change provides improved security and convenience by using Lehigh credentials to access Microsoft Office 365 rather than maintaining a separate password, as was previously configured.

What does this mean?

This change means that you no longer need to maintain a separate password for Microsoft Office 365. Instead you will log into Microsoft Office 365 as follows:

  • Enter your Lehigh email (xxxxxx@lehigh.edu) as the first credential when signing in, as usual.
  • Enter your current Lehigh password in the password field. This is the password you use to access most Lehigh resources, such as Google Mail, the Campus Portal, or Course Site.

I’m a Microsoft Office 365 user. Do I need to take any action?

Yes. For all devices using Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, you need to synchronize your Office 365 account to the new credentials.

New to Microsoft Office 365?

If you don’t have a Microsoft Office 365 account, find out more at lehigh.edu/office365.

If you have any questions about these actions or experience any issues logging onto Microsoft Office 365 using your Lehigh credentials, please contact the LTS Help Desk at (610) 758-4357 or helpdesk@lehigh.edu, or contact your LTS computing consultant.
