Classroom and Computer Site Updates - Summer 2015

It was a busy summer for the Classroom Technology Support team (as summers always are). In addition to the redesign of the new Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning space, fourteen classrooms had their capabilities expanded and upgraded with new equipment. Over one hundred computers in seven locations were replaced as part of regular life cycle maintenance. A summary of the upgrades is listed below:

Classroom A/V Upgrades

  • Drown 202 - Updated with laser projector, replaced touch panel, added cable cubby, replaced touch panel, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, installed new switcher/scaler
  • Drown 209 - Updated with laser projector, replaced touch panel, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, installed new switcher/scaler
  • Packard 101 - Updated with DLP projector, replaced touch panel, replaced document camera, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, installed new switcher/scaler
  • Packard 360 - Updated with laser projector, replaced touch panel, replaced screen, added cable cubby, replaced touch panel, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, installed new switcher/scaler
  • Zoellner 211 - Updated with laser projector, replaced touch panel, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, installed new switcher/scaler
  • Zoellner 345 - Updated with laser projector, replaced touch panel, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, installed new switcher/scaler
  • Mohler 355-356 - Made into (1) room reusing (2) projectors (single display), provided new switcher/scaler and controller, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, added motion sensor, added network switch
  • Maginnes 105 - Updated with laser projector w/ surgex, new screen, installing new HDMI plate, installing direct fiber and audio cables from lectern to projector
  • Chandler 210 - Updated with laser projector w/ surgex, provided new switcher with amp, added new control chassis and new motion sensor, directed fiber from lectern rack to projector, added network switch, surgex at rack
  • Neville 1 - Updated with (2) 6500 Lumen DLP projectors w/ surgex and receiver, added new 10" touch panel with preview, added Enova switch, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors,installed CAT6 from lectern to each projector, added network switch, balanced audio
  • Imbt B101 - Updated with laser projector w/ surgex and receiver, modified podium for cable cubby, added Enova switch, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, installed CAT6 from lectern to projector, added new motion sensor, added network switch
  • Maginnes 102 - Updated with (2) laser projectors w/ surgex, install new 10" touch panel with preview, add Enova switch, added HDMI, mini displayport, and VGA connectors, installed CAT6 from lectern to projector, added new motion sensor, added network switch
  • Whitaker 303 - Added equipment to room to allow video and audio conferencing capabilities including a new control system, surge protection, HDMI and VGA connectors at lectern, CAT6 to projector, receiver at lectern and 6 transmitters in lectern, new matrix switcher, new network switch, 58" confidence monitor on rear wall, 2 total ceiling tri-element microphone arrays, audio mixer, rack mounted speakers, 40" master control monitor, HD Blu-Ray, SSD Recorder, Capture card, 3 PTZ cameras, Smart Sympodium 18", scan converter, network switch, and two 80-inch displays

  • Drown 12 - Installed 80" flat display, ceiling speakers, HDMI, mini displayport and VGA connectors into a cable cubby, 7" touch panel, blu-ray, Enova switcher/scaler, PC, and motion detector
  • Packard 508 - Added computer, Enova switcher/scaler, cable cubby, and motion detector
