Over the summer, a number of improvements were made in the 5th floor south area of the E. W. Fairchild Martindale (EWFM) Library.

In addition to adding more seating and group collaboration spaces, a flexible teaching and presentation space has been created. This glass-walled, light-filled space can be configured in many ways including:

  • lecture/presentation for audiences of up to 32 using one or both of the ultra-high-definition display panels
  • as a small group classroom or workshop space for up to 32 in which students work in small groups with movable furnishings
  • In addition, this space features the ability to share different content to each display panel using a Mersive Solstice wireless device (

Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL)-supported classes and LTS/CITL workshops, seminars, and presentations will be held here. In the evening this space will be available for student collaboration and group use.

These enhancements are a continuation of the EWFM 2020 plan which seeks to re-envision the EWFM Library in order to serve the Lehigh University campus community and provide spaces to inspire the pursuit of knowledge and the incubation and acceleration of ideas.
