EWFM 6th floor study and collaboration space

Over the summer, improvements were made in the 6th floor south area of the E. W. Fairchild Martindale (EWFM) Library.

Over 50 seats were added to the area, along with ten new portable white boards to accommodate the growing demand for student study and collaboration activities.

The redesigned, conversation-friendly study space includes a mix of individual study carrels and tables, the addition of power outlets for nearly 100 seats, and individual lighting at 64 seats.

Space for quieter study remains available on the north side of the library on the 5th, 6th, and 7th floors.

Finishing touches will be made to the space soon, including the addition of more furniture by early October, and painting and electrical work scheduled for pacing break.

These enhancements are a continuation of the EWFM 2020 plan which seeks to re-envision the EWFM Library in order to serve the Lehigh University campus community and provide spaces to inspire the pursuit of knowledge and the incubation and acceleration of ideas.
