Hamlet's Supernova: Astronomy and Literature in the Renaissance - Friday 12/5

Speakers include Virginia McSwain, Professor of Physics, speaking on astronomical imagery in Hamlet, and Edward Simon, a doctoral candidate in English, who will provide an overview of early modern English literature featuring references to the stars. Following the talks, attendees will have a chance to see important astronomy and literary works of the period, including Shakespeare's First Folio and Tycho Brahe's Astronomiae instauratae mechanica.
