Friends of the Libraries speaker series, Wednesday, March 20, 4:10 pm, Scheler Humanities Forum (Linderman 200).
Save the date for an informative program on the Stabler Land Company records and local history! Speakers include community scholar Mark Connar and Gerard (Jerry) P Lennon, Lehigh Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
The speakers will discuss how they are using the Stabler Land Company records to enhance knowledge of the Friedensville Mines. They will also describe their efforts toward having the Lehigh property where the President Engine House is located, and which was the center of the 19th century mining activities, transformed into a heritage park.
Watch for details in a future announcement.
