On April 2, Lehigh will hold its 2nd annual Giving Day, inviting every member of the Lehigh community to step up and make a gift in support of our students, colleges, and everything that makes South Mountain great!
Library and Technology Services is participating in the university event to help showcase the Lehigh Libraries as an institution that fosters critical thinking, innovative scholarship, and dynamic learning for the entire campus community.
Why Lehigh Libraries need your support:
The Lehigh Libraries are an essential resource for our students and faculty. In 2018, we saw over 825,000 visits to the libraries, offering faculty, students, and staff access to print and electronic collections and services like the Help Desk, interlibrary loan, and research consultations. The Libraries are a synthesis point where scholars connect with resources and expertise to create the products of Lehigh's educational mission.
How you can help:
The goal is to get as many people in the Lehigh community to participate. Even small gifts, when made together, can make a big impact on today's students and faculty. LTS hopes to raise $5,000 in just 24 hours! Your gift will help us to:
- Build a distinguished endowed collection of scholarly materials for emerging areas of study in all five (5) colleges;
- Renovate and transform spaces and places in FML for facilitating student and faculty discovery, collaboration, innovation and creativity;
- Build on the success of the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning with endowments supporting the development of new and exciting classroom teaching and learning experiences; and
- Endow Library and Technology Services student experiential learning programs that provide students with paid on campus professional experiences in teaching, consulting, and technology support.
How does Giving Day work?
At 12:00 a.m. on April 2, 2019 the Lehigh Day of Giving contribution page will open for donations. To make a gift to Lehigh Libraries, choose Student Experience, then select Library and Technology Services. The minimum gift is $5.00. The university’s goal is to reach 1,865 total donors in 24 hours! Will you be one of them?
I hope you recognize the importance of giving to Lehigh Libraries, the home of research, teaching, and learning at Lehigh. Make a gift, spread the word, and share your Lehigh pride. Together, we can do great things!
